Nine’s Wide World of Sports returned in March 2024 with a new look, refreshing the ionic Atomic branding. The brief was to streamline the production to deliver information that is quick and easily read by viewers. This was a refocus of the previous Sports Sunday package which had evolved over the show’s six year run.
We have taken the opportunity to experiment with delivery of content throughout the show with a range of tools available to the producers. Most notably the introduction of a Virtual Set, which allows producers to extend their physical studio space to show full frame graphics and draw attention to upcoming events. This Virtual Set is modelled as an extension of Nine’s 1 Denison Street Studio A, using Blender, and rendered in real-time using VizRT.
Wide World of Sports airs each Sunday from 10am AEST, LIVE & FREE on Channel 9.
