Producers for 9 News had been preparing for the death of Queen Elizabeth II for over a decade, with rundowns planned, studio graphics designed for Today Show and News coverage. When the announcement came, within several days, a special package was designed and delivered for the coverage of the Funeral.
The most intensive part of the package was the rendering of a 3D flight map showing the route of the State Gun Carriage. This segment ran several times as a summary of the historical event.
